🚨 NEW: A Labour source says Andy Burnham is a “snivelling little rat”
“Burnham would rather bring down the Government than launch a challenge… Snivelling little rat, always has been. It’s why he’s lost two leadership elections”
[@harriet_symonds]
Are you slow? What fate are we talking about here? The man is literally an upper echelon trust fund baby with a penthouse lecturing on the moral dangers of working a full time job 😂😂😂 Not everyone sprang out of uni into a job with a trade union lmao - get out of the bubble.
@LouM1994 @broseph_stalin Presumably he still has contact withtrade union bureaucrats and other left wing full timers and is cautioning others to avoid that fate. I agree with him and I am a low paid shoe factory worker so you can't say shit 🤣
@ted_splitter A regular job like …. Being a political economist?
U wana expand on the list of acceptable jobs in this ideal moral universe? Or just spout theoretical shit to mask the fact that what you’re saying doesn’t make a lick of practical sense?
How not to distort your perspective and priorities. A lesson from … Archie Woodrow. ☠️☠️☠️ chronically online rs21 activist and archivist for all shades of trivial lefty gossip and minutiae. Get a fucking grip beloved 😂 political priorities?? 😭😭😭
and staying in those kinds of movement jobs long term as a permanent career is what's going to have the biggest risk of distorting your perspective & priorities. but obviously the economy is dire enough idk that anyone's gonna be judged for taking whatever career they can get tbh
nothing said here actually rebuts the argument. purely moralistic stuff about how staffers are often good people who've worked hard, which is obviously true but irrelevant. the movement does need full timers, but nobody's doing the movement a favour by taking one of those jobs
@ted_splitter Im just saying if you wana bring peoples career circumstances etc into a conversation about staying grounded in society then why is your wealth, lifestyle, and career out of the conversation? Self awareness and reflection out the window.
@ted_splitter I’m pretty sure some random working class bod working full time for the cwu or some shit, living pay check to pay check on a 38k salary, is more grounded in the reality of class than Dr Kumar is 😂. Even if their job is ostensibly more political. But that’s pretty obvious, no?
@ted_splitter and id be more inclined to listen to what you have to say about “grounded” work over a millionaire academic tweeting from the comfort of his east London penthouse. Is it that deep or difficult?
