@ann_mcnitt @JacquiDeevoy1 So when my bro had bacterial meningitis last year,NO ONE in close contact ‘caught’ it . No work colleagues, or family members. No one was advised to take anti biotics of wear masks in ICU. He had no limb lost.

@scsomewhere999 @JacquiDeevoy1 My bro had it last yr. The hosp kept asking me if he’d been abroad. They couldn’t understand how he got it. He was in no contact with anyone who had it. None of us ‘caught’ it who were in close contact with him.

@JacquiDeevoy1 My bro took bacterial meningitis last year. I was in very close contact as I found him delirious. I never took it. None of my visiting family or his office work colleagues took it. None of us were told to take any meds and weren’t told to wear a mask in ICU .

@liz_churchill10 Agree! My brother had the worst type of meningitis last yr. He was expected to die. I was in close contact with him as his work colleagues. No one caught it. Even in ICU I wasn’t told to wear a mask or offered antibiotics.
