Stats Roundup: Here’s what the table would look like if each team played ever other team each week. Each column shows week by week results with the final simulated record vs the ESPN record on the far right.
The Nuns talked strategy: “This week is definitely a tough matchup. We wanted to change our strategy, so we brainstormed for the last two days. This week we will be working on scoring points, instead of collecting head injuries. We will also keep all of our kneecaps in place.”
Matchup Preview: A Hiuse Divided! This week features Playing to Wine (3-4) against Nun Shall Pass (1-6). Vanessa’s hoping to start a winning streak after last week’s victory while Micah and Julia are aiming to end their losing streak and shoot for the playoffs.
Vanessa spoke about the unique circumstances around this match in her press conference: “It might be pretty uncomfortable in the Johnson house this week, but I’m definitely playing to wine! After squishing the poop last week, I’m feeling pretty good!”
@WyattWilkinson2, on the other hand, had a lot to say: “This is the week it all turns around. My team is way better than everyone’s especially my dad. Hopefully the fantasy gods will be in my favor if not I might be keeping the the toilet trophy!”
Matchup Preview: Father v Son! This week Big John (3-3) takes on Team Bluto! (1-5). Wyatt continues to find ways to lose despite having the fourth highest scoring team. John is coming off a .1 point loss and wants his winning record back. Wyatt is barely favored 150 to 149.
Matchup Preview: Mid-Table Madness. Too Many Daves (3-2) meets up against Code Brown (2-3). Although Dave has the better record, Erin and Brian are ahead in points scored. Current projections favor Code Brown to win this one with 73% probability.
Too Many Daves: “It’s going to be a tough week. Too Many Daves has three starters out this week with a Bye. But, we are up for the challenge! Code Brown might live up to their name and be shoveling a lot of it this week!”
Garret, on the other hand, had some strong words for the competition: “Team is in a good place right now. We are all healthy and playing good. Practicing hard this week. I don't want to boast or anything but I think wyatt should tell his team to try to keep up.”
Matchup Preview: Brothers Face Off! This week features Team Bluto! (1-3) against 3rd Stringer (2-2). Although their standings don’t show it, these teams are ranked #1 and #3 in total points scored. It’s set to be a shootout, with Wyatt currently projected to win 149 to 142.
During his press conference, Wyatt had some grievances to air: “I’m the highest point scoring team in the league and sitting at the bottom of the pile. Fantasy is frustrating.”
Stats Roundup: Laces Out is currently one of the three top teams with a 3-1 record. Despite these results, Tavis’ team has the fewest total points scored and is averaging less than 130 points per game. Is it time for a #regressiontothemean?
Dave feels confident while Jenna didn’t even feel the need to prepare.
Dave: “Too Many Daves is ready for the challenge. We are coming off a big WIN over Kiki. Our team is fired up!”
Jenna: “Jenna forgot to set her lineup! Thankfully Aaron Jones is off to a good start!”
Matchup Preview: Championship Rematch. The previous champs, Too Many Daves, are coming off their first win of the season to face the only undefeated team, New Name Who Dis?. Can Dave finally hand Jenna her first loss, or will she get the retribution it looks like she deserves?
Stat Roundup: Against conventional wisdom, the 1-2 teams actually have better overall point tallies than the 2-1 teams. Single win teams have averaged 145 points per game while the two win teams only average 139 points per matchup. You can’t sleep on anyone in this league!
When asked for comment, both owners had confident messages.
Zach: “I have a lot of respect for Shannon as a manager. But, my team looks strong and we should come away with the win.”
Shannon: “I’m banking on (Zach’s) team totally taking this week to win”
Matchup Preview: The Mid Pack Scrap. This one’s between two 1-1 teams. Last season Shannon finished on the podium at 3rd overall and Zach finished 2nd in the regular season. They both want to prove they can show up again this year, but only one can come out of this game with a W.
