So apparently this Twitter was hacked. Sorry to all my followers if you were spammed by "Penguin NFT person." FWIW the Dioxin One project is long dead I decided a while ago that I would never again release music under this name. If you want more "recent" music, follow @LoudMovth
Not that I am surprised by it in the the slightest, but awareness needs to be developed. I wish there were more women in electronic music. There is no need for it to be a "guy thing" other than the barriers us men put up against women in the industry
I just retweeted a long series of stories from @PRXZM_ frontwoman speaking her truth about the music industry. She is one of the most genuine and nice people I have met in this industry, and to here how she has been treated by it is sickening and needs to be shared
You’re 18 trying to get to know the industry and find a manager. One reaches out to you and is interested in your music but talks to you like this. What do you do?
1 of the most exciting shows we ever booked was opening for Adv. Club in mpls. After our set, which felt incredible (first huge crowd!) their TM pulled me aside and screamed at me in a stairwell for “going too hard”. We played only originals. I couldn’t write or sing for weeks.
My first experience with this was when I was 18 and a producer I respected and was super excited to work with pulled out of our collab because I didn’t want to hook up with him. Every. Woman. In. This. Industry. Has. Experienced. This. Or will eventually
First of probably 30 experiences? Until I shrunk away from social media to a comfortable distance that significantly hurt our engagement as the frontwoman of our band.
Or how about when our agent at UTA refused to pay us for 6 shows after tour? Then told me I WAS DIFFICULT. Then dropped us. Then blocked us. Then I had to find a lawyer to write the head of the company? Then I couldn’t get an email back from any agent for 2 years? 🤔
Thinking about when ***** *** texted me while in the same room asking if I would go to the bathroom and make out w him. I was frozen&felt sick because I thought we were getting along & was excited for the connection but not in this way. He unfollowed the next day when I said no.
Do the men in this industry know how gut wrenching it is to see someone who YOU KNOW is shitty. Who YOU KNOW is disrespectful, gross, creepy. Getting a HEADLINING. SLOT. ON. A FESTIVAL?? It’s enough to make you want to quit. How do you not??? Asking for me.
@feedme "Queueing for Breakfast in ATL"
American translation: Standing in line at the waffle house lmao
...but seriously the gun situation here is absolutely f-ed
