It so happens that during our best moments, we forget the people who would do anything for us; they might be parents, siblings, classmates, colleagues, friends or just associates. We bask in glory and selfies competing for social media likes and forget these people.

They are the first people you pick up your phone to call when arrested, when the landlord has added another padlock to your door, when you lose your job or even when you are critically sick.

They are also the last people you talk to when everyone else has failed and even when they cannot support, you know that by confiding in them, you will have strength to face tomorrow.

Before the moment comes when you doubt if these people might really take the bullet for you, take today to mend your relationships with these people.

Take advantage of NOW and do something for them with the little you have; call them, text them, meet them, treat them to lunch, buy gifts, help with school fees and remind them that you are there for them.

Our biggest mistake in this day is assuming that acting too busy and being out of reach is a step to sophistication or a lever to another social class, wrong. Do not be too busy for everyone, you are not a robot.

Use today and live the social life we should all live as social beings because it so happens that none of us, despite their positions or status, has the assurance that their tomorrows will always be rosy and comfortable.

Little Brianna Lovely Nyawira, a tiny play-group pupil at Blessings View in Kiangai, was taken from Miiri PCEA Church while she was quietly having her porridge.
CCTV shows a woman in a red kofia approaching her, taking her hand, and walking out of the church with her like it was the most normal thing in the world.
Her father, Antony Maina, has been raising her alone with his mother after he and Brianna’s mother separated. He has been her whole world… and now he doesn’t know where that world is.
The police at Miiri Police Post and Karatina Police Station already have the report. The family is desperate. They are scared. They are tired. And somewhere deep down, there is a quiet, painful possibility that the person who walked away with their child might not be a complete stranger.
Please… if you were at Miiri PCEA Church that day, if you recognise the woman in the red kofia, if you have seen a little girl matching Brianna’s description anywhere around Karatina, Kiangai, Gatura, Miiri or the surrounding areas — speak up. Quietly. Safely. Contact the police or call:
