In a year of brutal blows to the fabric of our society, seeing the Washington Post gutted by a feckless billionaire still manages to feel like one of the worst yet.
The Post is the team that drafted me. I’ve only ever worked one place since schools. And whatever happens, the gratitude I feel for having spent more than a decade here will never dissipate. But right now, I’m angry. Furious, actually.
I grew up with @washingtonpost as my hometown paper, but I've lived in the west for nearly 20 years. Following D.C. sports through the exceptional writers at the Post sports section has always felt like a small but meaningful connection to real D.C. and friends back home.
Outdoor Alliance board member and Congressman-elect Gabe Vasquez is on our blog today sharing how he got his start in advocacy work. Gabe has more than a decade of experience working on public policy, including working for U.S. Sen. Heinrich & the New Mexico Wildlife Federation.
The Nationals are trading Juan Soto to the San Diego Padres. @JonHeyman first on this. Nats get CJ Abrams, OF Robert Hassell III, OF James Wood, RHP Jarlin Susana for Juan Soto and Josh Bell, as @jonmorosi said. Source says they also get lefty Mackenzie Gore.
The combination of 50 Republicans, the Republican Supreme Court, and this guy have knee-capped the U.S in fighting climate change. It’s up to us now to be masters of our destiny. Whatever we did yesterday towards clean energy, we need to increase tomorrow.

Let me be clear—unless Congress takes bold and necessary action on climate change—a livable future is lost. Young people have acted bravely and relentlessly in defense of not just our planet, but their very lives. Another world is possible. We must have the courage to deliver it.
President Biden must immediately use the full scope of his executive powers to address climate chaos, starting by declaring a climate
emergency.

In a global energy market, we're never going to drill our way out from under the thumb of the fossil fuel industry.
@JasonKeithMoab and me in @thehill today:
"The reality is that we’re never going to drill our way to lower gas prices and energy independence, and, meanwhile, there’s another crisis — climate change — that demands our immediate attention." @LouisGeltman@PLSorg

NEW: 175 members of the House Democratic Caucus have signed onto a letter urging @POTUS to do everything in his power to pass desperately-needed investments in clean energy, jobs, and justice.
We can’t afford to miss this moment. #ClimateCantWait
