Jeez. This is embarrassing for Sunak. The evidence given before the Treasury Committee this afternoon on the catastrophic damage inflicted on the UK economy by the hard Brexit the PM championed is absolutely damning!
@CallumCMason@tes@ISBL_news@steverollett I think it would be a great idea to have schools in one area to be in one academy. Oh, of course, that would be the same as local authority control. What was so wrong with that??
In the ghetto Helga made over a hundred drawings depicting everyday life.
After the war she studied graphic arts & became a renowned painter. Through her work she tries to pass on a message to the younger generation to never let anything like what happened to her happen again.
It’s not surprising. We want to forget that we kill 76 billion farm animals a year to please our palates. We call ourselves animal lovers, yet if we did to dogs and cats what we do to farm animals, we would find ourselves in prison. The cognitive dissonance is deafening.
We don’t want to know that, in most rich nations, 80 to 90% of the animal products we eat are factory farmed. This means sensory deprivation, stress, discomfort and fear. And factory livestock farming *inevitably* overwhelms catchments with nutrients, wiping out rivers.
And we *really* don’t want to know that the environmental impacts of outdoor livestock farming are even worse, due to its very high land demand, carbon opportunity costs, ecological opportunity costs and methane emissions from ruminants (cows, sheep etc)
We’re in deep denial of the greenhouse gas impacts. The latest estimate, in Nature Food, gives livestock consumption’s direct emissions as 9.9Gt CO2eq yr−1. That’s roughly 20% of total global emissions. By contrast, global transport produces 7.2Gt. https://t.co/3NF8VnRxUL
Having promised to be “honest” with the public Rishi Sunak tells MP’s how well post Brexit trade deals are going & how happy our farmers should be
It is of course COMPLETE BOLL****
