@WallWhiz@greenhousemd A child in my primary school died from it and another lost their hearing. It was a very small village school. 55 years later I can still tell you her name and where she lived.
@BexBookaholic A blanket. National Trust do beautiful ones. This isn’t a dig at the withdrawal of winter fuel payments. There is a simple pleasure in snuggling under a nice blanket.
@RupertLowe10 Nothing new. My mum arrived Uk 1956, worked , payed taxes etc, married my UK born dad in 1960, paid taxes. When Zola Budd got Uk citizenship in 1984 my mum was told couldn’t get UK citizenship as not been in UK long enough… nothing has changed.
@ScholerinED Many, many years ago the Sister of the acute surgical ward, I worked on, spent Christmas Day dressed as a Can Can dancer ( the consultant was dressed as Napoleon but that’s another story!) Her costume was unable to contain her ample assets when she performed cardiac massage……
@whtwldbabsdo@KateBMwriting@VictoriaPeckham We are doing this now. Mum,a widow for 24 years, appeared to have kept an immaculate house. We are finding every drawer and cupboard full of their life together dating back to the 1950’s. Some we are keeping, some to charity but so much, sadly, to the tip.
@Plasmadreamer @MarksDoingGreat We had a company car and one insurance company refused to quote on so had to get cars that we could afford to insure once they had passed their test. Both boys helped buy their cars.
@MarkOLe49047609@suladoyle My mum ( RIP @94) always got a red name band as she was allergic to cocaine! Many years earlier she was given some up her nose for a medical procedure and promptly spent the next few hours trying to kill herself and my father! Always caused a bit of a laugh on clerking!
@JeanLou46960840@TeddieKessler1@Tjeerd001 When I was growing up there were people in our village with tattoo numbers on their arms. They had been rescued to the UK by Sue Ryder from European concentration camps. I will never have a tattoo.
@ShawnaGofABPoli We need to get the general public to realise DNR is not withdrawal of care but ceiling of care. Resuscitation is brutal and not a peaceful death.
@jtrebach When I worked on a liver unit my husband would know if we’d had a bleeder when I walked into the house by my smell, even after changing out of scrubs.
@deelomas My mum (94) died in May, we then struggled to get a death certificate. Hospital sent her discharge to her GP not the GP practice for the care home she was discharged to for end of life care. 2 weeks to get the death certificate then a further week to arrange to certify.
@pallbro@MMMHMMMYEAH Our elderly rescue loved our dog walker probably more than us! Your pup will interview them
and actually make the choice of who you trust easy.
@colingraves09 @sapperadam@jackfifield Morrisons also donate fresh goods to food banks. These packages are for customers to pop in their trolley and leave in the collection trolley.
