@zdaniel Was pretty efficient! I registered last night and called to vote first thing this morning. My advice - have your preferences for both ballots written down and ready to go or I can see the lines being super delayed with people being unsure what to do.✏️ #ausvotes
@sallyrugg Thanks @Mon4Kooyong@AusElectoralCom. Was efficient - I registered last night and phone voted this morning. My advice: plan before calling and have your preferences written down ready or I can see the lines being super delayed with people being unsure what to do. #AusVotes2022
A thread about Parliament, power and photo ops.
When I was 20, I visited Parliament with a group of young women advocating for gender equality.
We were told we would meet Scott Morrison. We waited next to groups of school kids. He went around the circle posing with each group.
I know it's a bit nitpicky, but when someone wishes you well, even if you don't like them... can you not stop scrolling on your phone for 20 seconds? This is juvenile level disrespect.
There’s just no point having vaccinated educators if the parents and guardians of childcare kids aren’t vaxxed too. My centre’s outbreak this week has caused a 2 week closure and the kids got covid from parents. Vaccine mandates for childcare parents can help this! @VictorianCHO
#childcare@VictorianCHO @JamesMerlinoMP @IngridStitt Please add parents of children at childcare to the vaccine mandate ASAP.
Look at childcare centres being exposure sites daily now - how much worse is it going to get once lockdown is over? #covidvic
I’m hearing much support for keeping the double vaxxed parent requirement for childcare - please don’t remove it once we hit 80% @VictorianCHO. Mandating educators is only half the solution in protecting our little ones. Unvaxxed parents such a threat to childcare. @IngridStitt

We know the adults around kids need to be vaccinated, so this is so important for childcare. Cases coming out of childcare every day now, will be huge numbers when cases start to reach the 1000s.

Childhood vax proof already required for enrolment of kids so isn’t a stretch to integrate parent vax into such a risky setting. 80% in general pop doesn’t help if the other babies my baby is playing with all day have unvaccinated parents at home.

@VictorianCHO So brilliant childcare will only open for children with fully vaccinated parents. Thank you!
But then at 80% is it open for all?
PLEASE can we keep the rule only open for children with fully vaccinated parents?

@littleplaceFDC @VictorianCHO @JamesMerlinoMP @IngridStitt@DanielAndrewsMP I know, which is really great for about a week - but at 80% it then opens to all parents, which is the scary part for childcare settings. My understanding was non-vaxxed parents can at that point send their kids - which is the risk I’m scared of. 😞

Please please please can you add double vaxxed parents as a requirement to attend childcare as a step to reduce the risk to children in these settings? @JamesMerlinoMP @VictorianCHO
My fears have come true and covid has struck a child at our childcare centre. Once lockdown ends these centres with vulnerable unvaccinated children are going to continue to be the most common exposure sites. It’s terrifying. @JamesMerlinoMP @VictorianCHO

PLEASE can we keep the rule ongoing as childcare only open for children with fully vaccinated parents?
