We drove to Knock airport today using mostly deserted new roads. It was exactly five minutes quicker🙄On this new bypass the grass has been excessively cut all the way along. Hours of pointless work & emissions. Why not leave for biodiversity? @MayoCoCo

Native wildflower #meadows & #hedgerows are essential for #wildlife The loss of both has added to the ongoing biodiversity crisis. This field used to be intensively farmed, until 8 yrs ago. It is now a wildlife & wildflower haven, & gives me hope that nature can rebound. #meadows

Forget-me-not fun fact: the yellow ring at the flower’s centre fades to white after pollination, signalling to insects there’s no more nectar. The insects therefore learn to visit the flowers that haven’t yet been pollinated, ensuring no forget-me-not flower is forgotten 🤙
