@IanDunt Used to teach a French Rev/Napoleon module for A Level History and the film felt similar to teaching that - far far too much available content and not enough time to do any of it any justice.
@TheNewsAgents@GlobalPlayer@jonsopel@lewis_goodall@JoJohnsonUK Completely agree. Iโm Head of Humanities in an inclusive 6th form in the north-east. Why should the kids I teach be told to be โnot botheredโ? Especially when for them university could quite literally transform their lives.
@IanDunt@Dorianlynskey Just finished listening to the Churchill 2 parter Origin Story pod. You have (without realising Iโd imagine) created a perfect revision resource for my A Level History students. You even refer to loads of the primary sources we use. Fab work ๐๐ป
@Jmosley_history @HelenPins We also do French Rev and find it a tough one. Chronology so chaotic and the Napoleonic battles never-ending. Itโs the one thing that we just havenโt got quite right yet!
@ASOS I ordered something and app says it should have been delivered yesterday but wasnโt. No money has been taken from my account yet. Any way I can check on this order?
@RuthBC@Peston@GavinWilliamson@BorisJohnson Oh completely agree. Heโs so far out of his depth and clearly doesnโt care about the devastation this has led to. But I also think we would have had exactly the same outcome had anyone other member of the current cabinet been Ed Sec.
@SophyRidgeSky It is and when results yesterday bear no relation to our historic data the only logical conclusion is that itโs down to the fact that we have inclusive and modest entry criteria. We are so proud of the fact that we transform the lives of working class kids. Itโs just awful!
@SophyRidgeSky Yes and on a range of different measures - high grades lower / pass rates lower / value added scores significantly lower. Itโs devastating.
