@TorontoStar Why was he employed after discovery of texting in 2005? Why did the Star use his Covid information without vetting his reputation as a teacher?
@susanclairmont I believe the school board and the hospital did teach this individual a lesson while respecting and upholding the values they have instituted in their establishments. Anything less would dilute the policies that have been established to protect staff and patients/students.
My province is on fire. My town is under evacuation order. The tourists won’t go home and the people who live here have no place to stay. We are overwhelmed. The boats are impeding water bombers because they are clueless. I’m sorry my life is getting in the way of your vacation.
@solmamakwa@GregRickford So sorry this happened. Thank you for sharing your pain to point out the lack of respect this government has shown you and your community. I’m sure it was not easy.
The SIU made only brief reference to what tipped off their investigation. The historic abuse was brought to their attention by a civilian — the only official hint at the push for justice Dickman’s childhood friends made in the months after his death.

What we witnessed today was an assertion of white power. White people are the only group that can spin a fake grievance into violent chaos and not face bodily harm, columnist @ShreeParadkar writes. https://t.co/AKukGjwEju
@reenie2@TorontoStar You’re missing the point. He can masturbate all he wants in the privacy of his home, but not on a work call. His colleagues deserve a safe work environment free of sexual harassment.
@TorontoStar Sexual Harassment, plain and simple. He was on a work call. This is criminal and all women need to be on the alert since we are never safe from predators. There are many qualified people to take his place. Maybe a woman will get an opportunity now!
Not when it’s an all-white women panel covering an event you’ve been planning for weeks/months. Incremental change is not acceptable anymore. The ‘celebration’ and dismissive tone is disrespectful to your colleagues who have been fighting for meaningful changes at CBC for years.
Thanks @CBC for having me on the ‘Being Black in Canada’ special. However, here’s where I’m at on taking part in panel discussions like this one about the n-word:
These type of discussions are distractions and frankly, they just buy time for companies who aren’t ready to act.
