@liamgallagher The Book of ManCheaty, 11:5: 🙏
“And City took the owner’s money, disguised it as sponsorship revenue, and said unto the Commission: ‘It is a miracle. Stop asking questions.’
And the faithful replied: ‘Amen. Now investigate Arsenal, Man U and Liverpool” 🫡🤣
@city_exclusives Nobody said spending guarantees trophies. The point of financial rules is that everyone has to play within the same constraints, whether they spend brilliantly or like Spurs. “We broke the rules more intelligently than they spent their money” is not the defence you think it is.
@City_Xtra ManCheaty: “The Commission took too long AND we brought 24 witnesses!”
The Commission: “We had 7,000 pages of verbatim transcripts, mate. We concluded some of your witnesses lied.”
Imagine appealing when they had every word your witnesses said sitting in front of them.
@MCFC_Hugo Man Utd & Liverpool, 1915: punished.
Graham: punished.
Chelsea: punished.
Real Madrid: punished.
Tottenham: punished.
Hugo: “SEE?! EVERYONE CHEATS!”
Bro accidentally assembled 250 years of precedent for punishing clubs that break rules and presented it as ManCheaty defense. 🤣
@cityzenken_ Wenger recruited Arteta in 2011 knowing that seven years later he would infiltrate City, obtain the passwords, contact Rui Pinto, leak the files, return to Arsenal, win the league, and finally activate Operation ManCheaty. Christopher Nolan needs to investigate this timeline. 🤣
@Oliss_Cook@HandofArsenal At this rate, ManCheaty’s strongest defence is becoming: “We cheated so comprehensively that everyone who ever worked here is also guilty.” 🤣 Cope harder!
@cityzenken_ ManCheaty Law, Article 115: Once you enter the Etihad, the charges follow you for life.
At this point, LinkedIn should add a warning: “Manchester City, 2012–2019: 115 charges may follow you to your next employer.”
@GeronimoMorgans So an appeal could challenge whether the Commission had sufficient evidence to establish the Hitch requirement of common intention. But defeating the sham finding alone would not defeat the Commission’s alternative economic-substance finding.
@GeronimoMorgans The absence of a sponsor witness may affect the weight of the evidence, but it does not make proof of common intention legally impossible. The question is whether the evidence as a whole establishes that shared subjective intention.
@bernardooooV3 City weren’t punished simply for owners investing their own money. They were found to have disguised owner funding as commercial sponsorship revenue through sham arrangements.
Investment wasn’t the problem, mate. Disguising it was.
@henrywinter Exactly. Investment in Manchester deserves recognition, but it does not buy immunity from football’s rules. No owner should ever become too economically valuable to punish. The moment economic importance becomes an argument for leniency, sporting integrity becomes negotiable.
@amjushere That argument collapses liability and punishment into one question. Penalties are proportionate to the specific offence, its seriousness, duration, intent, cooperation and mitigation. A £300k offence does not establish a £300k ceiling for everybody else.
Cope harder
@totalsane So because a football club faces regulatory scrutiny, millions of uninvolved people should pay higher energy bills? Families, businesses and other law-abiding citizens become collateral damage because the Premier League upset your club? Delusional.
@GeronimoMorgans That confuses public benefit with legal compliance. Jobs, regeneration and academies are irrelevant to whether the rules were followed. Otherwise, success becomes immunity from regulation. Good works are not a legal defence.
@MCFC_Hugo 6. The pound collapses. The Haaland-to-Championship shock.
7. Heathrow closes. No City, no international.
8. Britain loses its credit rating. Investors flee the ManCheaty crisis.
9. Civilisation ends. Historians call it AC: After City.
@Mcfc_page26 ManCheaty Criminal Code:
Article 1: Cheating is only cheating if you physically hand the referee a suitcase of cash.
Article 2: Everything else is just creative accounting.
Article 3: If the cheating helped you win trophies, the trophies are now evidence that you didn’t cheat.
@zarahussain999 Lovely list. Now show me the Premier League’s community-service-to-charges conversion rate. At this rate, build enough playgrounds and 114 charges become a £50 parking ticket.
@Citizzy Absolutely.
And anti-doping rules were invented because everyone was jealous of the fastest cyclist.
ManCheaty logic: if the financial doping works well enough, the trophies become evidence of innocence.
