I transformed the Plush interpreter from a stack-based design to a register-based architecture, and the performance boost was more than I expected!

Had to show you this one because I think this is genuinely cool. My WIP networked 3D engine that runs in a browser. Also demoing live-editing the world, and prefab objects! :)
@valigo One annoying thing is that some of these people are very good at convincing others to give them money and put them in positions of power. Just think of that wework guy... The awful truth is that he's not a rare exception. I've seen it happen a lot, just on a smaller scale.
@wholemars Unsupervised FSD would definitely be a massive revenue driver... Also, there are still more possible steps between supervised and fully unsupervised. "You have to be in the driver's seat but you actually don't need to drive" would also be awesome for family/friend road trips.
Weekend project: mini 3D engine to render a cyberpunk-themed city using WebGL in the browser. It does 60fps on my Pixel 10, with ~1M polygons visible. Does per-pixel lighting and dynamic lights too :)
@wholemars Looks like they finally got rid of the weird chicken legs. Not super inspired by a photo with just the CEO standing in front of ugly robots (where are the engineers who designed the thing in this picture?).
@iquilezles You should definitely be proud of the work you've done, but the issue here is anthropic / openai profiting from your work without ever giving you credit.
Looking at some Rust wgpu/winit/Axum/tokio code and I feel like I've found the ugly/Java side of Rust, where everything is verbose and overcomplicated for no reason, except to please the type gods. It's just missing an AsyncLazyFactoryFactoryProxy to top it all off 🍒 🥮 🤦♀️

@valigo I'm trying to design a simple 3D engine with Claude Code right now and ho boy does it take some shortcuts. I still can't believe so many people are advocating for not reviewing the code.
@filpizlo Furthermore, the big tech barons are basically already above the law, they don't want democracy. They just want to control politics using lobbying and legalized bribery. So it's like, where do we really think that this is headed.
@filpizlo I had another scary thought the other day: AI is a tool for centralization of power. As in it's literally something you can use to increase the amount of control/leverage a single person or entity has. That tends to make it incompatible with democracy.
