Hi @Postvox I’m due a delivery today and received this text this morning. I figured it was fake as it’s from a mobile no & links on the cloned website page don’t work.
I’ve deleted & blocked the number but it’s definitely one where I did wonder if it was legit.

First years enjoying their first (of many!) home ec practical classes.
Homemade shortbread is a great starting point for skill development. The “rub in” method has a multitude of future uses! Great to see everyone so proud of their baking.

1st Years certainly deserve a *Distinction* for enthusiasm!
Berry crumbles were a huge hit last Friday and helped work on the “rub in” method.
A fantastic baking skill to learn with so many other uses… so next up we’re making tea scones!
Nice piece on “change in shopping habits” in @IrishTimesBiz for #homeec students. Some great discussion points and links to money management, healthy eating & changes the pandemic/cost of living have had on our shopping habits. Plenty to analyse for senior students!
Thrilled to see past student of @stmarysmallow Valerie O’Leary on last weeks Irish Times advocating the value of vintage & 2nd hand clothing.👏🏼
The same week fast fashion brand Shein were exposed over shocking pay & conditions.
Looking forward to discussing both articles in class
Excellent clip from @rtenews on saving energy in the home. Great discussion point for junior cycle students looking at LO 2.7

First years delighted as they experienced their first ever practical home ec class. Key skills included weighing/setting up/rub-in-method/baking/timing/washing-up!
Lots of delish shortbread going home & the sense of excitement at how successful they were was so lovely to see!
Made the most of the last of the wild blackberries by making blackberry posset for Sunday dessert💜
A side of shortbread biscuits for good dipping and it was the perfect end to the weekend!

Looking forward to meeting these first year girls over the coming days!
Lots planned for our new first year creative textiles module focusing on embroidery, upcycling & embellishing! 🧵 🪡 😌 ♻️ #wellbeing#mindfulness#stmarysmallow
Endless amounts of positive energy & excitement in #stmarysmallow today as our first years continued their induction.
A morning of planned activities ensured opportunities to make friends & get to know their new surroundings.
A great start for all!

Colourful eats! 🧡💛❤️💚
Photos of what my 3rd year class prepared, cooked and served for this years Junior Cycle Cookery Exam.
As this is worth 50% of their final Home Ec grade it was well worth the weeks of practice, preparation & refining of skills! #HomeEconomics
3rd Year Cookery Practical 2022.
Zesty herb dressing for this avocado & mixed leaf salad was 👌🏼
Oven baked Fish cakes with feta walnut salad, chicken & veg wraps with salsa & cheese. #nutritious#homemade#homeec
💙🤍Well done #stmarysmallow!💙🤍
An amazing achievement for all involved, what a fantastic sports memory first years, coaches, family and friends will have for years to come!💙🤍🏆🏀👏🏼
@_melaniemay Semolina(farola as we call it), rice pudding, stewed apple or rhubarb topped with breadcrumbs, brown sugar & butter, Queen of puddings, jelly trifle & apple crumble all still made regularly by my mam! Tapioca, blancmange & golden syrup steamed pudding also popular growing up.
A great resource for #homeec healthy eating, nutritious balanced meals and more can be found below. Great visuals available to use with students & reinforce idea of balancing all meals not just main meal of day, which many forget!

Spotted this “healthy lunchbox”🤔 advertised by a local supermarket & I think it would make a great discussion point for my 1st yr Wellbeing class.
Healthy food swaps & sugar in foods are areas we’ve focused on so I reckon they might have some interesting views on this!
