#OnThisDay 19 July 2000 INS Sindhushastra (S65), the Kilo-class diesel-electric attack submarine, was commissioned into @indiannavy at St. Petersburg, Russia.
The submarine has a length of 73 meters, a beam of 10 meters and displacement of 3075 tonnes.

#INSJyoti, the largest tanker of #IndianNavy, completes 27 years of glorious service to the nation. Built at Admiralty Shipyard, St Petersburg, Russia, the ship was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 20 July 1996. (1/3)

#INHS Asvini achieved another milestone by successfully performing an Intra Uterine Transfusion (IUT) for the first time. The procedure was performed on a 27-weeks foetus having severe immune hydrops foetalis due to Rh isoimmunisation.

Hydrops foetalis occurs when an Rh-negative mother's antibodies attack and destroy the blood cells of her Rh positive foetus causing severe anaemia and cardiac failure eventually leading to demise of the foetus.
