It’s truly moving to see how the press have championed our call to action and amplified the voices of so many who have suffered in the music and entertainment industry. The media’s support has been powerful, and I’m incredibly grateful for it. However, while media attention is a great step, those in positions of power—those who can activate and implement real change—have still not acted.

I have personally written to the Secretary of State for DCMS @lisanandy , the Minister of the DWP @DWPgovuk , and even the Prime Minister @10DowningStreet . Yet, despite the urgency, these communications remain unanswered. This isn’t a battle we can declare victory in with media alone—we need real action.

I’ve had the honor of speaking with people like Guy Chambers and Brian Harvey, along with many former X Factor contestants who support this cause. Yet, I am still waiting to hear from others, including @robbiewilliams , who has also called for change. It’s time for those who have heard our voices to step up and make a real difference.

This is a fight not just for those who have suffered but for the future of an industry that must protect and empower its people. It is imperative that those who have heard our voices now take action.

The @louistheroux upcoming docuseries Boyband Forever, featuring Simon Cowell, should be met with caution rather than endorsement. This three-part series appears to be crafted as a carefully staged spectacle, seemingly part of a certain persons reputation management strategy, rather than an honest exploration of boybands and the true exploitation they faced. Former members are still experiencing this treatment, as you will see on this docuseries, with painful personal histories dredged up, even as they remain unable to control or own their own life story rights. Disturbingly, Brian Harvey from East 17 yesterday revealed that footage of him is planned for use without his permission, and that producers went as far as locating his home after he declined participation. The series seems geared toward pushing a one-sided, sensational narrative that does more harm than good for those involved, allowing certain figures to appear concerned and supportive while ultimately reinforcing exploitative practices in the entertainment industry.
