💔 A report by the Icelandic government exploring welfare concerns around its OWN fin whale hunts revealed that some of those killed can take as long as two hours to die. 120 Minutes of suffering by an intelligent, sentient being, slaughtered to be eaten.

The 2023 report showed that nearly 40% of the fin whales shot struggled for approximately 11 and a half minutes before death, whilst some took over an hour to die. One whale with a harpoon stuck in their body was found to have been chased for five hours without being killed. This barbaric practice has to end!

Despite these shocking findings by Iceland, they continue to issue whaling licenses. In December 2024 Kristján Loftsson was issued a 5-year whaling license to continue slaughtering whales - in a declining market, by an interim government. Loftsson who exports 90% of his whale meat to Japan believes he can ‘continue whaling forever.’

We must #StopIcelandicWhaling. The John Paul DeJoria is being refitted so that it is ready to protect the ocean and its marine life. ✊
