The discourse around Supergirl is really cursed right now. I wrote about how I enjoyed the movie, and why it's so weird how people are basically cheering for it to fail https://t.co/UOPbj7u3Lm
@tomson_lu@adamcarolla Please stop flaunting your straight opinions on social media. I don’t care what you do with your genitalia behind closed doors, have some respect.
@OurMovieNews This is a bit of an overreaction. Alcock’s Supergirl is the strongest part of the film. Can’t wait to see more of her, which we know we will. No franchise is without its hiccups.
Craig Gillespie’s #Supergirl is a great follow-up to #Superman. It’s got the underdog rock 'n' roll attitude of Guardians of the Galaxy mixed with the grimy ruthlessness of a Mad Max movie. Tonally it’s a unique concoction, but it works!
It’s a film about fighting for those who show up for us, and as cliche as it sounds, it also reinforces the idea that home is where the heart is.
Milly Alcock brings a sort of aloofness and melancholy to the role that helps create emotional depth. If Corenswet’s Superman believes in everyone, she believes in no one. Momoa’s Lobo is used just enough that you’re satisfied but also want to see more. And the moments we get with Superman further prove why David Corenswet is the perfect choice to portray him.
It’s a solidly entertaining DC adventure that brings another fresh look from James Gunn and Co. I’ve always been a big champion of Gunn and his vision for DC, and this movie only reinforces why I’m excited about where this universe is headed.
Supergirl starts off as a slow burn, but once it finds its footing, it soars. Milly Alcock is incredibly relatable, bringing heart, vulnerability, and strength to Kara's journey of embracing her imperfections and discovering the power within. The film balances emotional character growth with some truly epic action sequences, while Jason Momoa's Lobo is an absolute scene-stealer. He was born to play this role. #Supergirl #lobo @DCOfficial
@jmm19691@fiercepatricks True there are a lot of ignorant people on both sides. I happen to believe many conservative principles still make better sense than some ridiculous liberal ones.
