Internet red pill is destructive to masculinity in many of the ways new age feminism is destructive to femininity. Both focus on selfishness over service, have a victim mentality, see sex as cheap & are deeply embittered towards each other. Neither are based on fullness of truth.
"prior to age 32, each additional year of age at marriage reduces the odds of divorce by 11%. However, after 32 the odds of divorce increase by 5% per year...For almost everyone, the late twenties seems to be the best time to tie the knot." https://t.co/NK3FR8ghKX
I recently sat down and read these three books. They are required reading for anyone concerned about our civilizational crises. Very happy for my friends @BradWilcoxIFS@TPCarney and @AbigailShrier for having researched and written such essential works.
Dating apps are struggling to hit revenue targets due to burnout with the product and demographic shifts
The Q: could we see a shift to offline ways of meeting or did they sufficiently destroy traditional patterns/ecosystem that Gen Z will be even worse off w/o them than w/them
Marriage — to a good woman — is great for men. The social data shows this. It’s also great for women. Anyone telling you otherwise is not telling you the truth.
High-connection marriages have 3 times higher scores on proactive behaviors than low-connection couples, specifically in spending meaningful time together (71% vs. 19%), doing acts of kindness (72% vs. 18%), and forgiving offenses (70% vs. 21%). https://t.co/5nficEj62O
🧵on new NYT interview:
We have to:
1) Help young men become more marriageable
2) End marriage penalties in welfare policy
3) Tell the truth abt marriage in academy/media
+ Encourage young adults to devote as much attention to dating/marriage as they do to educ & work.

Gen Z is the loneliest in history, in thrall to technologies that don’t so much mediate life as colonise and replace it. Me at @unherd on our collective withdrawal into tailored personal universes https://t.co/fxaN4eOTgx
DISGRACE! Students at Georgetown - a Catholic University - have an “A** Wednesday” table on campus with a butt drawn on their foreheads
It’s disturbing that these students would mock the sacred tradition of Ash Wednesday - a day of profound significance around the world
Shame on them. And shame on Georgetown for allowing this!!
The new book just dropped.

Whenever I hear somebody say that we must "think outside the box," I conclude immediately that I'm in the presence of somebody who doesn't.
It is a tired, vapid, self-congratulating phrase. To THINK is what is necessary: and THINKING requires, in the first instance, the precise definition of terms.
The beginning of wisdom, says Confucius, is to call things by their proper names. He meant that we don't proceed one step toward wisdom unless we are in the habit of seeing an object for what it is and using words that describe it accordingly.
Otherwise, in our time, we are awash in gabble, verbiage that conceals or distorts reality, or that removes us a million miles from it, as we busy ourselves with fighting over empty terms, such as "democracy" has become.
Take the bullshit word "heteronormativity." Good gracious, a term of pseudo-scientific fancy-dress, to call into "serious" question the simple fact that boys like girls and girls like boys, that they're made for one another, and the human world really does revolve around that love. All cultures testify to it.
"Democracy" meant, in ancient Athens, "government by the deme," the "demos" or artificial division of the citizenry that Cleisthenes and his allies came up with, to put in check the power of the wealthiest families, and to supplant, in part, one's loyalty to the family with loyalty to the new division, and ultimately to the city.
"Democracy" since the Renaissance at least has meant "government by the mob," or, more blandly, "government by the common people," and in all matters beyond the municipal, that implies government by an undifferentiated mass of persons -- the masses. Democracy is not an ideal. Even if we do not view it with the suspicion that Adams and Madison and Jefferson held it in, it is a means, a tool, toward what we hope will be good government.
What THAT might look like is another matter.

@McDuf13 @pearlythingz Date nights are objectively correlated with more marriage satisfaction and less of an inclination toward divorce.
Its not always possible, but if given thr chance, it seems strange for a husband and wife to not want alone time with each other.
