TOWARDS A CITIZENS’ REPUBLIC: FULFILLING THE UNFINISHED CITIZENS’ HEROES’ PROMISE

1) Fellow Citizens. Today, we join the nation in commemorating our Liberation Heroes and Citizens’ Heroes. Heroes who fought and continue to fight oppression and tyranny. Heroes who rejected and continue to reject segregation and the unfair distribution of national resources. Heroes who resisted and continue to resist minority domination and authoritarian misrule. Heroes who defended and continue to defend the dignity, rights, power, will, and choice of Citizens. Heroes who stood and continue to stand for the sovereign right of Citizens to choose their leaders and determine how they are governed. Heroes who define what constitutes the State and who should constitute it.

2) Sadly, these sacrificial and patriotic acts are being undermined and betrayed by individuals who have completely abandoned the ideals of the liberation dream. Amending and subverting the will of the Citizens, as we saw in all previous elections, with 2023 being the latest. Presiding over discredited and disputed national processes and outcomes, as witnessed during the delimitation processes. The shambolic parliamentary processes and public hearings during CAB 3. The shambolic voter registration process. The illegal recalls, sham by-elections, and the abuse of political party financing and its allocation to undeserving and spooky individuals. The pushing of self-serving and illegal amendments to the Constitution without a referendum. Corruption and raiding of national resources and state capture.

3) WE, THE CITIZENS, take courage from our heroes and commit ourselves to running our course. We shall not surrender. We shall not retreat. We shall continue in the pursuit of the rights, dignity, freedom, and sovereign power of Citizens. We shall continue to pursue a Zimbabwe where Citizens choose their leaders freely. Where their votes count. Where the will of the Citizens is respected. Where government derives its authority from the consent of the governed—the very idea of a Citizens Government. We remain committed to the idea of a Citizens’ Republic.

4) Upon instituting a Citizens’ Republic, we will put in place a Citizen-driven, Citizen-sensitive, inclusive, and consultative framework for the conferment of national honour and the recognition of the sacrifices of gallant Citizens of our land across all sectors. It will honour Liberation Heroes and Citizens’ Heroes in the most comprehensive manner. It will restore national honour to its rightful place. It will ensure that the heroic sacrifices and ideals of our heroes are never undermined or erased. It will ensure that recognition is never again a partisan privilege. It will ensure that no hero is forgotten because of political affiliation. It will also ensure that the families and children of our heroes never starve or are forgotten, by providing them with dignity, care, and sustenance.

We may be walking through difficult and uncertain moments now, but in due time, we will reach the mountaintop. The valley has an ending, and our appointed time will come. Our fight and trust is not in vain!

There will be seasons when life feels heavy, uncertain, and overwhelming. But never allow a difficult season to convince you that our story is over.
Seasons change, moments pass, and storms eventually give way to sunshine.The storm may be strong, but #Godisinit and He is stronger.
Hold on to hope, stay focused, keep the faith, and trust the process. What God has promised will come to pass at the appointed time.

And remember: “I the LORD will hasten it in his time.” Isaiah 60:22

Dear Zimbabweans

I stand firmly and unapologetically in my belief in Pres @nelsonchamisa N. Chamisa's leadership. Time and again, he has demonstrated remarkable courage, resilience, and an unshakable commitment to the hopes and dreams of millions of Zimbabweans. Every obstacle placed in his path has only strengthened my conviction that true leadership is forged through adversity.

In my view, Nelson Chamisa has endured relentless political attacks, criticism, and challenges from both opponents and people who were once regarded as close allies. While others sought to discourage him or question his vision, he continued to speak of unity, democracy, justice, and a better Zimbabwe. That determination is what sets great leaders apart.

The greatest leaders are often the most tested. They are misunderstood, opposed, and challenged because they dare to inspire change. Nelson Chamisa has faced difficult moments with resilience, choosing hope over bitterness and perseverance over surrender. That is the mark of a leader whose purpose is greater than personal ambition.

My support for Nelson Chamisa is not based on convenience t is rooted in my belief that courageous, principled leadership matters. I believe Zimbabwe deserves leaders who inspire hope, encourage peaceful participation, and remain steadfast in the face of adversity.

No amount of criticism, political rivalry, or setbacks can erase the impact that determined leadership can have on a nation's future. I choose to stand with Nelson Chamisa because I believe resilience, integrity, and a vision for a better Zimbabwe will always outlast division and discouragement.

The journey of great leaders is never easy, but history remembers those who refused to give up. I remain hopeful, confident, and unwavering in my belief that Nelson Chamisa has the strength, vision, and determination to continue serving Zimbabwe and inspiring generations to come.

A CITIZENS’ GOVERNMENT IN OUR LIFETIME. Simply put, ours — President Chamisa-led, citizens-led,is the fight for a Citizens’ Government in our lifetime. A government constituted by the Citizens, of the Citizens, and for the Citizens. A government that expresses and respects the dignity, fundamental rights, sovereignty, will, and choice of the Citizens. This is what the colonial administration and this neo-colonial, unelectable, unelected, anti-citizen, colonial-mimicry administration have denied our Citizens. This is what the liberation struggle, the democratization struggle, and our citizenocratic transformational struggle have always been about. The recently concluded UK tour is a reflection of the role-centric politics of the NEW . Going forward, we must develop a deeper understanding that the question is not only about where President Chamisa is going, although his role remains important, but more importantly, where WE, ALL OF US, are going and what role each of us must play in achieving change.

A citizens’ government cannot be built by one individual or one organization alone. It requires the active participation, commitment, and contribution of all sectors of society.

Just to mention but a few. The NEW is not only about the journey of a leader; it is about the responsibility of all of us. A citizens’ government will emerge when every citizen, community, and social force understands its role and actively contributes to building the change we seek.

Many times provoked. Many times pushed to the very edge of breaking. But never have we fallen into the trap of baptizing our struggle in blood. Never have we mistaken violence for strength. The easier route has always been there. Whispering. Tempting. Pick up arms. Seize power. Answer pain with pain. But we chose the harder road. The lonelier road. The road of ideas. Where conviction must stand unarmed. Where discipline must silence the rage within. And though it is slow. Painfully slow. Though it invites mockery. And the cruel label of weakness. We know that violence has no place in the DNA of peace. No place in the soul of what we are building. For true strength is not in how quickly you can destroy. It is in how long you can endure. Without becoming what you oppose. And so we walk this road. Long. Exhausting. Often thankless. The road of the “weak” who are in truth the strongest. The road that delays but never denies arrival. The road we have walked through fire. And will continue to walk. Because we understand this: real power is not seized in anger. It is forged in restraint. In patience. In an unyielding refusal to lose our humanity. GOD CENTERED. CITIZEN CENTERED. NATION/VALUES CENTERED.
