The older I get, the harder it is to see 18-19 year olds as adults. Those are just babies. Like their life is literally just starting. They don’t know ANYTHING.
Black people are held to a higher standard than every other race. We’re expected to be perfect, while others are given grace, excuses, and second chances. One mistake by a Black person gets used to judge an entire community, but the actions of individuals from other groups are rarely used to define their whole race. The double standard has always been there.
Callie was wrong. Arizona is adopted mom, even if yall divorced Sophia is still Arizona's daughter. Plus Im not breaking up my child's village to chase a 5 minute relationship across the country. Did all that just to not last.
Somewhere in your 20s or 30s you’ll get the opportunity to rebuild your life after a negative loop, heal from what broke you, live in your own space, reconnect with your discipline, and learn to love yourself again. It’s very important that you see that journey through.
