@doc_mermaid Good luck with the new job and getting your life back. I left my job as SENCO and deputy head in 2021. Moved to a different part of the country and live by the sea now. I have so much time to spend with my son, my friends and I have a new partner. Congratulations 🎉

@emmalgsutton It's not easy. I have read to allow children to stim if they need. Also I know parents with autistic children who barely eat anything. Better to cater what they will eat than have issues with food and not eating. My son and I eat different foods. I am vegetarian he eats meat.

@MrBoothY6 This is a wonderful thread of reasonable adjustments being so effective. Thanks for sharing. Young people are often more accepting of adjustments than they are given credit for instead of thinking it's unfair. A great use of the book too.

@Mellow_Pascoe Completely agree. Don't judge anyone. I have sat reading while my son plays on his iPad. One time someone made a comment which I ignored as we had just walked 10 miles and we were tired. My son is incredibly active. A screen can help him cope in a noisy/difficult environment.

@chrisdysonHT @TeacherTapp I did want to be a teacher and I did love it. Unfortunately it was too much to manage the demands of the job, the enormous funding deficit and being a single parent to a child with special needs. I now work from home, 30 hours a week, term time only. I do the school run daily.
