Hangwani Morgan Maumela, through a syndicate of more than 40 shell. companies, extracted R820 million from Tembisa Hospital through dubious and corrupt contracts.

What we know: Babita Deokaran was first to identify syndicate networks in 2021 and was murdered 19 days after reporting her concerns.
