Quick update on the MD / GEN version of Earthion.

The final ROM is done, and we’re currently in verification. If everything passes, we move on to production.

Due to the current global situation affecting parts supply and shipping, timing could still be impacted, but we’re moving forward step by step.

We also hope the world finds more stability as soon as possible.

I’m hoping to share pre-order details before summer.

Always surprised when I find out that people don't know about Aeon Flux. The Liquid Television shorts, the first seasons of the show. Peter Chung crushed it. I'm sure most don't know that he also did the main title for Rugrats.

“Fountain of Love” – the original version, composed by Mieko Ishikawa.
Loaded from an original floppy disk from 1987 that I personally used, and played on a vintage NEC PC-8801FE.

This was Mieko Ishikawa’s first composition for the game, written shortly after she joined Nihon Falcom.
She told me that some members of the staff (possibly Masaya Hashimoto, a programmer on Ys) asked her to study a song from Esper Dream (Konami) as a reference.
From that influence, she created the theme for the town where the protagonist, Adol Christin, first arrives.

She showed me the score of the song, written in three voices and consisting of 16 measures.
I then used Split (MML) to arrange it and showed her how it worked on the PC.

This is how her first Ys song was born.
