the fact the US used the full force of the federal government to eliminate the Black Panthers while the KKK is still running around tells you a lot about this country
@doubleaamco We just ain’t mainstream gamers that’s all it is. A lot of people are just not good at games ( which is okay so that’s why they pick up the “ everyone’s on this title “ to game with mutual folks ). Also, limiting yourself to 1/2 games is just sleeper man. Have some diversity
Valve is getting praise after helping a first-time indie developer instead of rejecting their game at the last minute.
The developer accidentally uploaded a broken build that wouldn’t launch just before the Steam Next Fest deadline.
Instead of rejecting it, a Steam reviewer found the problem, fixed the game’s configuration, and approved the build in time for the event.
Other indie developers also shared that Valve has done the same for their games
You cannot spend years breaking a child's spirit and then expect a few words in adulthood to repair what took years to destroy. You cannot teach a child to fear your footsteps, your voice, your moods, and your anger, then expect them to see you as a source of comfort later in life
This World Cup is amazing, now the world knows how racist the latin/hispanic comunity in South America truly is.
I feel bad for my Afro brethren over there; this is the type of shit they have to deal with every single day, and on top of it, they are gaslighted by the racists latin/hispanics that the racism is not happening to them
So basically Mitch McConnell is a vegetable on life support in the hospital rn and bc his wife fled to China there’s no one with power of attorney to pull the plug or give up his seat…
Which is likely by design bc if the seat were vacated before August 3rd the election would become a special election which would allow Thomas Massie to run as an Independent and potentially win.
And the entire Republican Party is going along with this sick charade bc they are wholly owned by a foreign country who views Thomas Massie as a serious threat to their power.
Big success today. Not necessarily for a video, kind of boring business software stuff, but: Only 2 software suites keep me on Windows, at this point. Adobe and QuickBooks. I've managed to migrate off of QuickBooks, which has killed its desktop software to go cloud only. Fuck that. I was able to find Linux-compatible bookkeeping software that actually works way better than QuickBooks. Much faster and QB was forcing users to go online (no doubt to scrape for AI models), so this is local, fully self-owned data, and no cost.
Took all goddamn day, but man was the frustration worth it. Definitely not an easy migration process. I ended up trying several tools - Beancount with FAVA, hledger, Manager, GnuCash, and some others. Have narrowed to two, but the point is that there is a promising path forward and I now only have one set of software keeping me on Windows, which is Adobe.
There are solutions for that as well. It's a little more painful since the entire company uses Adobe and, for that reason, we don't have an immediate need to move and there's a lot more inertia. I will start experimenting with alternatives personally though and we'll see if we can roll it out over time.
Definitely promising.
I fucking hate Windows. The amount of spying is unbelievable at this point, and the pain to find alternatives to all my old tools is at this point lower than the concerns Microsoft introduces.
