My take on the first Fed Chair Warsh presser:
-He seems just as ambiguous as Powell, if anything slightly more so.
- He emphasized more of a focus on inflation and price stability. This in my opinion is the most hawkish element, he hardly mentioned the maximum employment
The world is broken from a monetary policy standpoint. What the textbooks missed is that pulling forward demand is not increasing demand. Giving people more money by printing it would be a collosal failure of gov't. There is a natural rate of growth https://t.co/G6jVMbRax5

$PWRD is the ETF that @ MerellaCTV and I were asked about yesterday on @ BNNBloomberg #BermansCall It's a good way to play the stocks best positioned to power the AI trend.
Been a while since I posted for many reasons; social media more toxic than not these days and really needed to step away for a bit. My 2 cents: The ceasefire will likely last as long as Trump needs it to. Markets can squeeze to test new highs. Beyond AI capex, economy is weak.
A viewer asked about a growth ETF for a TFSA. No best way to play it. An equal weight exposure due to the overvalued mag 7. $RTY is an equal weight large cap tech exposure. Evolve ETFs in Canada had a $QQQT that is only the technology part of $QQQ with a currency hedge.
It’s not just obesity. Drugs like Ozempic will change the world. It changed my life. It will be interesting to see what happens to price when generics hit.

We are seeing the most extreme readings in years at the same time we are entering the work month of the year and a very uncertain political season. What could go wrong? https://t.co/oQe9i2B3Ml

The forward 12-month P/E ratio for $SPX of 20.7 is above the 5-year average (19.3) and above the 10-year average (17.9). #earnings, #earningsinsight, https://t.co/NMv6Z9ZTMS
No @ BNNBloomberg #BermansCall today. I'm attending a long standing charity golf event. Markets need to make new highs in the next 3 weeks of earnings. If not, 10% lower to cool the trend back to more sustainable valuations. https://t.co/2DL1xcJJ65…
The benefits to S&P500 companies from rising AI-related spending and increased economy-wide productivity are modest even in an extremely optimistic case.
Thread.
The last time the OEX was down like this and the SML was up like this was.....about never. Today has to be a major inflection point for markets. I've been buying beaten up stocks in the higher for longer market. Today they performed very very well. Value beats growth for a while.
Thanks to @ mfwarder for spending his Tuesday evening with @ jleqc and @ InvestInOnG talking Q4 results and his 2024 outlook. To listen to the Space on your podcast app:

Just wanted to give a shout-out to one of the truly nice guys on Twitter. Patrick is not just someone happy to share knowledge in his Tweets and on Spaces, but he also rescues GSDs (and cute kittehs, apparently!). Patrick, thank you for being awesome.
I sit back and think how they don’t speak, have no idea what each other are thinking, but there’s a hidden curiosity and passion for cooperating, love and respect. Powerful.
She's half right. 47.2% of Germans own homes, so 52.8% must ask to install AC. German banks usually require a 20% down payment. Closing costs add 10%-15% to home prices and must be paid in CASH. Homeownership (like AC) is solely for rich Germans.
Nonsense. We literally talked to someone to install our AC this week and there is zero permitting process. That's if you own the house. Different thing if you rent, in which case you have to have approval for any changes to the building.

Thinking like this scaled across Germany explains its energy woes. What happens during the next dunkleflaute? What happens in November if there isn't enough NG in storage? What happens if there isn't enough coal/lignite?
Would love to hear the argument in favor of bankers who steal. I'm sure my deposits would be safe in such a bank. Q2 earnings: "C suite larceny up 23% YoY!"
I understand that theft is a crime, but why should she lose her job over that? On what basis was she fired? You do something cringe in public and you lose your job? That is so stupid
In July 1985, over a billion people watched Live Aid.
Months earlier, Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie had written "We Are the World." All of it was a response to a famine in Ethiopia.
Almost nobody remembers who actually caused the famine. 🧵
