Shane Knight Memorial Award winner for 2019 is Yea Saleyards - fantastic 2 deck ramp, animal separation, slam shut gates and infill, superb forcing pen. Great infrastructure for operators, drovers, agents. Congrats to @MurriMatters for making it safe working environment for all.
“It’s brilliant. It's providing a great solution to a WH&S issue, and in addition there’s an animal welfare payoff with cattle coming off the truck with less stress." Frank Herd, MC Herd on ProWay's Crate PAL.

Life on the road can be tough on the mental health of hardworking truck drivers. And the challenges we’re facing as an industry have never been greater.
Today is an important reminder to ask your mates #RUOK? A conversation could change a life.

@TransportforNSW big thanks for making Narrandera and Tarcutta testing sites 24hrs a day. So essential for heavy vehicle freight to be able to access service, we appreciate your support.
You might need a preacher, a doctor or a lawyer now and again in your life.
But you need a farmer every day, three times a day, every day.
Thank you to our farmers, truckies and doctors in regional communities for the job you’ve done through COVID-19 - you are true heroes.
Big congrats Associated Feedlots in Mathoura for new loading ramp. #Safe 4 operators, separation from livestock, safety gates, catwalk. Cattle moved quietly & calmly and efficiently, great 4 #animalwelfare and productivity. Build them everywhere please.
Big thanks to Minister @BenCarrollMP and Peter Anderson and @VTAComms for giving Vic freight operators options for asymptomatic testing to meet other state border rules. This gives operators practical options to keep moving essential freight and reassurance to stay compliant.
#COVID testing for #truck drivers must be uniform. Victoria doesn't have capacity for more testing. South Australia should change test requirement for @freight drivers OR set up more test stations that are 24/7! @auspol@springst@SAPoliceNews@theTiser https://t.co/nRCX7KRr1o
Our members very concerned about inability to get asymptomatic COVID test in Vic, & if they can, must then isolate when tested in Vic. We support consistency but having regular tests in Vic not possible & creating stress that this means non-compliant. Work often short notice.
National Cabinet has endorsed the Freight Movement Code for the Domestic Border Controls – Freight Movement Protocol, which will commence as early as Wednesday 12/08, with each state & territory to implement individually by 17/08 at the latest.

Safety is paramount to keep our industry moving, congrats to @ProWay2000 on this easy retrofit to existing facilities that makes unloading so much safer, faster and keeps animals quiet and relaxed. Let's see them across Australia!
"What you're seeing here today is a first of it's kind piece of equipment that will hopefully have application on sites around Australia," Matthew Munro, Executive Director, @ALRTA_News.
Feasibility study success for #ProWayAUS#CratePAL.

Perhaps more now than at the start of the Covid-19 economic crisis, Melbourne’s Stage 4 lockdown rules are exposing the complexities of a mature first-world economy – with freight’s efforts to comply put in sharp relief.

Don’t pressure truckies as COVID restriction starts
The NHVR and @TruckAustralia ask that trucking industry customers do not make demands that would affect safety if there are delays due to Victoria’s COVID restrictions.

Just rode my bike 51 miles through the beautiful state of Oregon, and waved at every single trucker who passed me.
Every single one smiled & returned my wave #ThankATrucker 🚚🚛🚚🚛
@NTC_AUS Often our members work in remote areas, and even close to urban places coverage isnt great. Digital still has limitations. Roadside enforcement need to be on board and happy if electronic versions become norm, eg NVDs or work diaries or physical drivers licence or permits.
