It's that time again for Liger Post Event Wrap-Up ✍️ for the OCEANIC RIVALS: YEAR ONE event this past weekend.

Coming to the end of 2025, and to the @MarvelRivals First year anniversary, we knew we wanted to do an event dedicated to OCE. We wanted to bring together some of oce's finest creators, pro players, and biggest supporters across the globe. From passionate creators to esports enthusiasts to today's prodigys and tomorrow's best talent in the scene. I hit up @Vodible and he had no hesitation to get in the mix of it and cast up a storm together.

So Oceanic Rivals, a love letter to year one was born. I spoke a bit about this at the rivals community meet-up at pax australia. Floated the idea to see who'd be interested, alot of folks were keen, but as anyone in event organising knows, end-nov into december is hellfire gala without no dancing on earth levels of difficulty planning around creators, pros, production staff's availability all at the same time. I think we did good tho, nothing went kapoot lmao. Good show, good fun, good vibes!

Many more homies wanted to be involved and many amazing individuals signed up. And as always we can't fit everybody, based on balancing alone that was a tough order. We did the best we could, consulted experts but nobody can predict the day of play. Anyone watching rivals esports knows this well, winner's momentum can be a thanos level threat in this game. But the playerbase is learning how to turn the tides more & more every day (switch to moon knight fr). Especially on this patch where the balancing is already a lil chaotic, we really wanted to showcase Gambit, maybe not the best competitive event experience looking back we'll change things up next time for the better (appreciate the feedback we received on this). But we collected alot of useful data this event, downloaded it, next times a banger with all that considered.

We're hoping that this event was another layer on the stack of massive efforts over the years of HSP events or productions we've joined on to make happen. Next time you see a HSP event, it'll be levels above the one before. Especially we hope, in prizepool, rewards for standout creators or players, themes, concepts, production, participant experience, stakes, etc. You name it, we level it up! So as always please show big love and support to the HSP team, for not only this event but all the work we've done together in Rivals Year One. @TheBlazeNinja @StormiePlaysYT @clefaerii_ @Beri_media @_ojoi @MDVAaron @NeshyLegacy @Abe_ANZ !!

So I'ma give the HSP team a long-earned live production break, but we're still here, active, and make sure you follow all our social platforms @WeAreHSP literally everywhere. There's alot of content coming out over the next few months, ranging from some our best moments from earlier events and our rivals community shenanigans at TGX & Pax. *stay tuned for a highlight reel of the event + giveaway announcement winner(s)*

Also a bit of soft launch news. With a new team being built to run it as we speak, the largest OCE Marvel Rivals community server (3k+ members) is currently under my responsibility. Monthly tournaments are coming back, as there will be a path to pro initiative, there will also be opportunities for those who may not be high-ranked to play in tourneys against evenly matched competitors. We all deserve the amazing 6v6, full comms, team experience and we all gotta start somewhere, than the struggle of day-to-day rng rolling ur teammates in comp. Even more than that, monthly pugs, movie nights (ayo fr MCU marathon anyone?), encourage creator collabs, art competitions, all supported by Marvel Rivals who wanna see our OCE community grow and succeed.

But to bring it back to this event and this year as a whole, and even to me personally. I am forever grateful of these past 365 days. Looking back I can't believe all the moments we achieved this year. Working with multiple communities across the globe to put on events, Schreudz Showdown, Austubers, BasimZB Creator Cup, Bogur Bash, Spark Down Under *and maybe something else coming shhh* 🤫 as well as for my self, the blessing and honour to be involved in the Tier 1 experiences of Marvel Rivals Ignite and MRC Pacific, traveling around doing esports? wouldn't have ever predicted that if u asked me early in 2024. But i'll keep working hard to earn that spot and keep going 2026.

But no matter how much we level up, we always bring it back home, bring it back to OCE. Year 2 gonna be crazy just you wait. We're just getting started, plans are being drafted, events are being set up, online and IRL 👀
