Today, the Security Council adopted Resolution 2728 calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

The resolution sets the right direction by unequivocally calling for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire. This reflects the general expectations of the international community and enjoys the collective support of Arab states. China and 13 other Council members voted in favor of the resolution.

We will continue to work with all parties to bring an early end to the fighting in Gaza, alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe, and implement the two-State solution.
