I think I witnessed something peak Surrey yesterday in the new church 😁
Pastor was encouraging kids to come dressed up for nativity next week. “Be creative! Come as a donkey if you like! Or a carrot for the donkey!”
One small child pipes up: “or hummus for the carrot?”
😆🙌🏼🙌🏼
When a student ministry is ran like a “church within a church”, then when a teen graduates out of that ministry… it feels like they’re having to go join a whole new church that they know very little about.
That’s why many leave.
It must be one church, multiple generations.
It’s Sunday! ❤️ 👏
Whatever kind of sheep you are, let’s make that trip to church. 😊🐑🙌
‘I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.’ Ps 122: 1
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
John 10:27

It happened to me. They oversold the flight. No one would volunteer. I, a graduate student with a direct flight and no checked bags, enter the scene. They are offering $1,800 cash. I take the offer, get a hotel room for the day, and get home 12 hours later. Dreams do come true!
So much of the Christian life boils down to HANGING IN THERE. To pressing on. To not throwing in the towel. To keeping on. To persevering. To enduring. To being steadfast. To not giving up. To not quitting on Jesus. And all the while finding him to be your all, by God's grace.
Adam and Eve hide behind a tree, naked, and covered in shame.
Jesus hangs on a tree, naked, and conquers shame.
The cross of Jesus is the great reversal.
One thing that strikes me. Most younger Christians in more evangelical/charismatic churches won’t have known the hymns used today. PLEASE worship leaders and pastors, teach your folk some hymns. They are going to need them and the nation needs people who know them.
Can we just take a moment to acknowledge the breathtaking beauty of a Queen choosing these words to be sung at her funeral:
'Changed from glory into glory,
till in heav’n we take our place,
till we cast our crowns before thee,
lost in wonder, love and praise.'
A lot of stories being shared about Her Majesty the Queen, but I've got one that tops them all. I once had the honor of touring the UK Parliament with a man who knew its history better than anyone. I asked for the craziest story he could share and he did not disappoint. 1/9
I find myself wondering how many days Elizabeth Windsor woke up and thought, can't face this today, can't do Queen, can't be that person everyone came to see, can't put the smile on. In her twenties, in her nineties. She got up and did it anyway, every single time.
Who told you you’re in a dry season?
Who told you you’re in a “season of waiting?”
God didn’t.
The Bible didn’t tell you that.
You keep saying it.
And that’s why you’re perpetually stagnant.
