Mascoutah High School is proud to recognize Avery Boehm for being named First Team All-State by the Illinois Athletic Directors Association (IADA), a prestigious honor that celebrates outstanding academic achievement while competing in multiple varsity sports.
Avery truly represents what it means to be a student-athlete. She excels in the classroom while competing at a high level in volleyball, basketball, and softball. This spring, Avery will earn her 12th varsity letter, achieving the rare and prestigious Mascoutah Gold Letter.
Her accomplishments continue to grow. After being named All-State in volleyball this past fall, Avery will take the next step in her athletic and academic journey when she continues her volleyball career at Saint Louis University this coming fall.
Avery, thank you for representing Mascoutah with such pride, commitment, and excellence, both in the classroom and in competition. The entire Indian Nation is proud of you!
5 students from @M19_MHS attended the Southwestern Conference Sports Med Showcase. They learned spine boarding and worked on the 3D anatomage table, as well as other skills. They may have been nervous, but they exceeded all expectations!
Wow! I am so proud of these 5 students! They attended the SWC Sports Med Showcase on Friday. All 5 students competed in 4 categories and we earned 5 top 3 finishes!! The categories included ankle taping, wrist taping, anatomical landmarks, & splinting.
One of our very talented students went to work on a video paying tribute to the final MVC game on Alumni Field after 54 years. When asked to narrate the video, I was obviously honored to be a part of it as someone who was blessed to wear that same uniform, on this same field. I had no idea it would turn out so awesome! Emotional to watch and think about our history to be honest. This will play just before kick off tonight. I hope you all enjoy it. Incredible job Lexi!
✅ Recovering post practices. Stretching and foam rolling can help the body remove fluid and improve blood flow to areas.
You have to start DAYS before NOT the day of!
If anyone is paying attention, we are going to heat back up again after having a pretty cool first two weeks of fall sports.
If your child is a football player, they need to start preparing their body for Friday ASAP.
✅ Sleeping 8-10 hours a night. Put away the electronics. Try not to drink caffeine after 12pm.
✅Practicing at game intensity. You cannot go half speed all week and expect to go 100% on Friday night without issues.
✅ Drinking water. 80-120oz and you can throw electrolytes in there some too.
✅ Eating 3 meals and 1-3 snacks per day. Kids should be getting a minimum 2000 calories a day. When your body is working to stay cool, it need calories to do that.
