After 30 years, I might finally ship my own game.
Excited for dream come true, but worry the game might not be fun.
I think it's more of a glimpse of what is actually possible, realizing the big plan will make time.
Week 9 game dev log:
Manage to put in 9 hours of effort this week (not bad for a hobby).
Paused new features, focus on polishing it into a playable online demo.
What kind of game I want to build?
โณ Respects your time
โ Casual, slow, strategic / tactical
๐ง No grind, no FOMO
๐ฑ Grow your character, items & companions
๐บ๏ธ Solid mission + playful side quests
๐ Easy to start
๐ฎ Free to experience the fun
โค๏ธ Pay only if you play a lot
Wish me luck. Hopefully I can put up a playable demo after 1 month (optimistic thinking I know, but I want to push myself, else the game would die from never shipping - like all of my previous game projects).
Been wanting to make a game since I played Romance of the Three Kingdoms II in 1995 (I was 15). Dozens of failed attempts later... still trying and not giving up. Made some real progress lately, maybe my dream will finally came true.
I restart again on Dec 2025, and have been working on it consistently for 6 weeks (only few hours per week). I finally have a work in progress playable prototype. I feel kinda proud, since it is the first time I came this far.
