Exactly! They write off a character any time there is one mistake then act like they never did that once it turns out things got better. I recall everyone hating on Moxxie online after that camp episode. No one talks about that now.

It's the same as how people abandon relationships now over the silliest single thing sometimes. No one wants to put effort into understanding and empathy anymore. Lots of characters in the show have made lots of bad calls, but if you think about it it's always something that can be reasoned out or a heat of the moment call. The new episodes even STATE THIS out loud in the trial scenes! People still let it fly over their heads.

As a writer, it makes me terrified while working on my novels. The extreme pushback over a character doing anything questionable or selfish plus a refusal of redemption is just... how did we get here?
