What??? This is so see through, of course the press will ignore the biggest part of this story!
under the guise of ‘protecting’ people from bad builders the gov is launching an app.
The new government “Trusted Payments” system to stop ‘cowboy builders’ will create an extraordinarily detailed digital record every time you use it for work on your home including…
▪️Your name and address
▪️Exactly what work is being done
▪️Contracts and quotes
▪️The cost of the work
▪️Payment milestones
▪️Photographs and snagging records
▪️Payment approvals and transaction records
And on the business
▪️Identity and business details
▪️Bank/payment information
▪️Business and tax numbers
▪️All work they carry out
So a simple private transaction between you and your builder becomes a structured digital record of WHO you are, WHERE you live, WHAT you are doing to your property and HOW MUCH you are spending on it!
You would be insane to voluntarily share this data with a government tying up data between all departments, creating a massive file on you!
Come on people Wakey Wakey!
Today, we're putting the cowboys out of business.
Most builders in this country are decent people who take pride in their work and charge a fair price for it.
But the small number who don’t follow the same pattern: take a big deposit, do half a job, then disappear with your hard-earned money.
That's got to change. So we're backing a new system that gives you the option to have your money held safely and released bit by bit as the work is completed.
Do the work, get paid. It's as simple as that.
And we'll help our good builders stand out from the cowboys too.
Tradespeople who meet our new set of standards will be able to show customers that they do things properly and can be trusted with their homes.
This is another one of our everyday fixes to help with the cost of living, and to get people in every part of this country to finally believe in Britain again.
@andyburnham Andy's description of cowboy builders sounds a lot like government. Takes most of your money, doesn't do what you want, ignores you when you complain and you are powerless to do anything about it.
The Govt want an app to weed out rogue builders. You pay the app and it dishes out the cash when the work is done. I want an app to weed out rogue Governments. I’ll dish my tax out when the work is done.

SEVERE CONSEQUENCES of a so-called vaccine that protects neither against the disease, nor its transmission, nor severe forms!
" I was insulted, called a dangerous conspiracy theorist, I lost friends for saying that, for any medication, there are side effects, for loudly proclaiming that a so-called vaccine, which kills more than the disease, has no reason to be used, nor made mandatory.
I lost my job as a surgeon because of it! "

Dear Mr Putin and Russia.
We, the citizens of Britain, did not vote for this unelectable cunt, and any decisions he makes do not reflect the ideals of the vast majority of our population.
All diplomatic solutions are welcome.
p.s. Fuck NATO and the EU.

We must hold this government to account!
My friend is going to drive around the whole of the UK, filming town centres to show the real demographic changes our country is suffering from. I will be posting his videos on @X to support him.
He, like I, do not believe the government figures...
£20 an hour sounds like a decent wage but when you do the maths it isn't even even to live comfortably in this economy.
£20 an hour × 40 hours a week = £800 a week.
Sounds decent right?
That’s £41,600 a year before deductions.
Then reality kicks in.
Income tax: roughly £484 a month
National Insurance: roughly £194 a month
Student loan: roughly £92 a month
Pension: roughly £147 a month
Take-home pay: around £2,550 a month.
Now pay for the basics:
Rent: £1,100
Council tax: £150
Gas, electric & water: £200
WiFi: £30
Phone: £60
Food: £300
Car insurance, tax & fuel: £350
That’s another £2,190 gone.
You’re left with roughly £360 a month.
And that £360 has to cover clothes, toiletries, subscriptions, emergencies, socialising, holidays, Christmas, repairs and basically anything else that costs money.
£20 an hour sounds good.
Until you realise that after working 40 hours a week, paying tax, NI, student loans and your pension, you're still spending most of what’s left just trying to exist.
How did it get this bad?
