This year, under the speakership of @SpeakerPelosi, Congress will spend more on Ukraine than we will spend on roads and bridges in the United States.
We must reassess our priorities and vote accordingly!
Joe Biden is refusing to call Florida governor Ron Desantis as a hurricane bears down on Florida. So much for uniting the country. Embarrassing behavior by the entire Biden administration.
The upshot here: The Seattle Mariners for the next four years will have a rotation of Luis Castillo, Robbie Ray, Logan Gilbert and George Kirby. That plays in any division -- and especially in one with a great Astros team and a Rangers team primed to load up on pitching soon.
The Seattle #Mariners have liked what they see in Luis Castillo, acquired at the trade deadline, and now will keep him around. He signs a five-year, $108 million extension, per @JeffPassan. He could have become a free agent after the 2023 season.
Another cool fact on Albert Pujols' 700th home run:
He and Henry Aaron are the only members of the 700-home run club never to hit 50 homers in a single season, let alone 60 like Babe Ruth or 70 like Barry Bonds.
Congrats to Albert Pujols. What a season. What a career. Hated seeing the Cardinal Way thrown to the side when it comes to accomplishments and awards but he deserves it.
Going all the way back to mid-July, the Chicago Cubs are 28-25.
It sucks that they aren't in a playoff race, but I mean, this is good stuff. There are positive signs here!
Albert Pujols just hit number 698, and I swear it feels like each of the last ten have come on a pitch just like this - 85 mph and dead freaking center.
I can’t stop reading about this Eliza Fletcher story. School teacher and mom of two young boys in Memphis is out on an early morning jog & appears to have been kidnapped & murdered by a serial felon. Crime is out of control in this country.
It’s embarrassing that Ohtani won’t win MVP this season because, despite what will likely end up being a better year than his last, certain BBWAA voters are somehow jaded by his game. If last year never happened and then he had this season, he would win the MVP Award unanimously.
