DISTURBING AI-GENERATED PHOTOS OF AUSCHWITZ VICTIMS (cont.)

We sent information to @Meta about both disturbing cases we recently discovered and wrote about on our Facebook page:

- posts that publish AI-generated images of Auschwitz victims (like at 90's History)
- posts that publish fake names of victims with AI-generated images (like at Timless Tales)

We were informed that at this point, Meta finds no justification for removing these posts or pages, as they do not violate the platform's policies.

It is, by itself, difficult to comment. From our perspective, such content disrespects the memory of the victims of Auschwitz. It's especially disturbing in the case of fake stories with AI-generated pictures, which is a clear example of historical distortion.

The fact that such a digital falsification doesn’t violate platform policy is far more than disappointing.

We were also informed that some managing accounts of those pages were removed as they did not seem to be real human users. We will be checking if this affects their activity.

Meta is still reviewing the pages and posts, and we will be notified if anything changes. We will monitor this situation.
