@CaryKelly11 Metabolism at 45 is more or less the same as in our 20s. It doesn’t slow down until we reach an older age, and even then it isn’t significant when controlling calories.
A low DHEA-S level is associated with worse health outcomes but that’s only because levels decline with age and older people have worse health outcomes. No causality of low DHEA has been proven. Taking a DHEA supplement raises the number on labs but there isn’t much evidence it does much to improve health.
@DrDominicNg I think it’s a risk-free and very inexpensive supplement we can all benefit from long term. I just went from 5mg to 10mg based on the new research. I think the highest dose I would take is 20mg for now, but I might change my mind once the dust settles.
