I think we need to start reckoning with the racism underpinning the anti-Lindor sentiment. It starts with the contract the Mets gave him that the fan base didn’t think he “earned,” continues through the Báez team and the disproportionate reaction to thumbs down, and persists now
@bwags@searlebaseball Bingo. It’s blatantly obvious. Not just the fans either. Several Mets “reporters” in the media are the same or worse. Reminds me of how I felt hearing some of the Beltran takes 20yrs ago from some of the same people, but now I can see the underlying motivations much more clearly.

@TheMetsX@mets_pobo Trading him is objectively not best for the franchise so there’s are very few other motivations behind the sentiment and none of them are good.
@nypostsports@Joelsherman1 & @JonHeyman you’ve been worse than watching the Mets this yr. Would be cool if you did some reporting instead of opining like shitty WFAN hosts. The obsession w/ Lindor is clearly more than just a baseball thing for you both. Trading him would be a fucking travesty
@TheGrumpyKnick If we’re honest about him, we say he’s been an all-time great Met and first ballot HOFer. If we’re a fucking idiot, we say what you just said. Fuck off.
