Ed could 'listen' to Otto for hours, after all he speaks so heavily with his hands. Ed miraculously finds Otto incredibly easy to understand, arguably the easiest Minion for Ed to lip-read. When Ed 'talks' Otto is silent, the other minions have never seen Otto so quiet.
