@MRoche1987@foodtechteacher@elsbells33@tezilyas@Rovers It would be difficult the first few times, but possibly not, like I said before, when they last signalled their intent to come, the idea was widely welcomed, but they never turned up. It’s a two way street.
@foodtechteacher@MRoche1987@elsbells33@tezilyas@Rovers Of course there are definitely more going, the Ewood express scheme seems to have done a brilliant job at creating a new customer base which is always good, especially if the interest spreads. I just wish it was a quicker process
@foodtechteacher@MRoche1987@elsbells33@tezilyas@Rovers I hate what they’ve done to the club, if they changed tact and started showing interest, I’d appreciate it. I’m not going to welcome them with open arms but I would appreciate the gesture.
@MRoche1987@foodtechteacher@elsbells33@tezilyas@Rovers Yes, but it’s still the issue of if they’re parents never bothered, they probably won’t either, same with anyone whose parents aren’t interested, the difference is that football in South Asia is eclipsed because of how big other sports, especially cricket, are over there.
@MRoche1987@foodtechteacher@elsbells33@tezilyas@Rovers Probably not, but what’s the solution, stay away forever? Showing up at least makes them look like they care.
I don’t think anyone cares that they’re from India, beyond the fact it puts them so far out of reach and contact of the club and its fans. The disconnect is the issue.
@MRoche1987@foodtechteacher@elsbells33@tezilyas@Rovers That seems more to do with a lack of football teams based in areas with high Asian football players, but that has changed leading to more Asian players coming through the ranks. Also possible that many young Asians have in the last felt uncomfortable at games, reducing interest.
@MRoche1987@foodtechteacher@elsbells33@tezilyas@Rovers We do all want the same thing, and of course blaming each other won’t help, and that’s why the owners should do more to unite the fans than simply saying “get behind the lads”. Showing up themselves would go a long way, even among those who hate them.
@MRoche1987@foodtechteacher@elsbells33@tezilyas@Rovers Venkys themselves could’ve done it, that’s my point, they cannot claim to want to spend then prove the opposite. And of course no one will offer to support a club financially now, why would they? The club is tarnished in the women’s game after the way they’ve been treated.
@MRoche1987@foodtechteacher@elsbells33@tezilyas@Rovers I can’t speak for those boycotting, but high prices just means that new fans will never bother. Lower income and working class communities surround Ewood park, why would families bother paying ridiculous prices, if they’re not overly sold on the idea of being a rovers fan
@MRoche1987@foodtechteacher@elsbells33@tezilyas@Rovers But when there are other solutions to the women’s team that wouldn’t touch the men’s team, why have they not been utilised, the only reason I can think of is that the board simply didn’t care enough to look into them.
@MRoche1987@foodtechteacher@elsbells33@tezilyas@Rovers In comparison yes, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be trying to get fans back, and that starts by reducing the ridiculous pricing and trying to make consistent progress.
@MRoche1987@foodtechteacher@elsbells33@tezilyas@Rovers The answer to the problems are to actually assess what we need in January, utilising the academy is essential but spending right is too, if we had, who knows if we’d have got to the playoffs, I also think we shouldn’t sell a false dream to prospective managers.
