@elonmusk If only there were some conservative multi-billionaires out there that could influence our elected officials via lobbying to address this rampant fraud or maybe…
@netanyahu the fraudsters are 2 weeks away from developing a nuclear weapon
@realEstateTrent I agree that there is no substitute for hard work but the ole “just work hard” advise is overly trite . One should not have to grind like crazy to buy an average home. For every one story of “my friend worked hard and became a CFO” how many worked hard and didn’t?
@RichardHanania The point isn’t that they want those jobs imo. Rather, that they want to do away with the program entirely. It seems like he is using this example to disprove the popular justification for the H1B program that it’s for skilled workers that can’t be found in the US.
@PauliMdt@ArmandDoma@BlueyAnon That’s the point. Everyone is warm with family/friends. What makes Americans different in this case is that they are warm with friends/family AND strangers whereas Poles are only warm with friends thereby Americans are warmer than Poles
@RichardHanania Gross misrepresentation here…. She owns the business, only does the drive a couple times a month, and is moving the business to Tijuana since she doesn’t want to drive that anymore. Odds are also high that she is a US citizen. Not a great example to use for your argument.
@Alexander_Logos @pjklife@ErikVoorhees pjklife’s arguments here are what give free market advocates a bad name. It’s what happens to commies too. They get lost in theory and forget how it plays out in reality. Rattling on about the long run supply blah blah… when “in the long run we are all dead”
@ErikVoorhees I agree in theory however I doubt it would work like this in practice. Take your water example you’re assuming there would be enough gougers with the capability to transport enough water to bring prices down already in the area and could get there quickly. /1
@ErikVoorhees /2 Water is an inelastic good. Why would any gouger drop their prices when a) they know ppl need it and b) they know their customers aren’t in the position to shop around? People will go to the first truck selling water they find
@tweetingmatty@the_transit_guy Your point? Sure he could’ve said downtown instead of city but his argument isn’t that the whole city limits needs to reduce the space it allocates to parking just that downtowns should
@cremieuxrecueil Another theory straight women further in their career are more likely to be married. Married women are more likely to rely upon their spouse to the the bread winner so the pressure to earn as much as possible is reduced explaining why they bid less compared to men w/ similar YoE
@RealDianeYap This is just the reality when you strike a stronger enemy. If Hamas had the same capabilities as the IDF these numbers would look very different. This doesn’t reflect restraint on the part of Hamas rather it reflects the lack of their military capability.
@pplsartofwar Your last point contradicts your first imo. If they keep the poor from raising up against the rich it sounds like they’re doing a great job of maintaining the social order they care about
@xspotsdamark Lastly, you imply that membership to these exclusive pirate brotherhoods founded by Janissaries (slaves forced into military service) were based on race whereas clearly membership was based on if you were a Janissary or not.
@xspotsdamark Also who do you think manned these ships? These European pirates captains most likely had crews comprised of almost entirely North Africans.
