@NotNihal Turkish food is a fusion of every cuisine that has existed in the region. Olive oil mezes/dishes, pide, kebabs, doner/iskender, bulgur dishes in the southeast. Modern Turkish cuisine encompasses Levantine food and goes beyond it IMO.

Would a maladapted man in his 20s bother with getting licensed? Even if he did, wouldn’t a trainer pick up on his weird behavior before giving him the license?

Why do we treat abortion so differently? Because it potentially affects the life of another human being. So, ultimately we need to weight two different interests: right to life vs guns

If no courses for first amendment, why the special treatment for second amendment, right? First, there are, some limitations on free speech. Hate speech, screaming “fire” in a crowded place and so on. Second, second amendment inevitably involves risk.. 1/2

If the FBI fails to detect potential risks, they would be held accountable. It is hard to make any causal inferences today without any gun control tho.

So why not increase the number of those by a stricter licensing requirement. We all take driving courses and tests to be able to drive on the road. Why not a similar approach?

Free-for-all easy access or a wholesale ban are far from being the only solutions to this nuanced problem. We need to be comfortable with compromise in legislation in my opinion.

If a responsible gun owner wants to keep his guns, that is his right. I believe this solution would have bipartisan support.
