REPORT: At least 98 protesters were arrested during a sit-in at Trump Tower in Manhattan on March 13. The demonstration, organized by Jewish Voice for Peace, called for the release of Mahmoud Khalil, a pro-Palestinian activist detained by ICE and facing deportation. Protesters entered the lobby in two waves, concealing protest gear under civilian clothing, and displayed banners advocating for Khalil and Palestinian rights. Arrests were made on charges of trespassing, resisting arrest, and obstructing government administration, with no injuries or property damage reported.

Khalil’s detention has sparked nationwide protests, with many galvanized by the attack on free speech. The Trump administration has vowed further deportations of foreign-born activists involved in campus protests.
