Using “Islamist” merely to avoid one stereotype can end up creating another. Words should clarify what happened, not attach an unnecessary religious identity to criminality
Here, I share the same sentiment as Mr Omoyele Sowore. We are neither entitled nor in a position to demand the abolition of indigenous cultures and traditions. However, when human rights and human dignity come into question, such traditions must have no place in our world today.
If someone commits a crime, call the person what the evidence establishes: a criminal, terrorist, extremist, murderer, or whatever description accurately applies.
