The difference between left and right.

The left: Listening to @IsabelOakeshott on @TalkTV this morning saying her partner, Richard Tice, left their home in the Cotswolds yesterday to be met with a woman in the street hurling abuse at him.

The right:. In the street or at events I've met Dr Therese Coffey, Dr Dan Poulter, John Selwyn Gummer, Michael Foot and Cyril Smith, none of whom I liked or cared for.

Did I hurl vile abuse at them? No, of course I didn't. I ignored them. It's the reality equivalent of 'scroll on by'.

I denounced Operation Midland as a “homosexual witch-hunt”. Ann Widdecombe stood by me. Not one LGBT charity even dared. Tatchell was remarkably silent. Ann stuck her head above the parapet to offer support - privately, publicly & practically.

I was accused of being a child murdering paedophile & was forced to declare “I am a homosexual. I am not a murderer. I am not a paedophile.”

Ann was always at the end of a telephone or an email whenever I needed her. She gave me private, public & practical support when it came at a personal & political cost.

Ann Widdecombe is gone, and Britain is smaller for it this morning.

She was the real thing. She said what she meant and never once checked the wind before she opened her mouth. They laughed at her, marked her down, sneered at her faith and her flag. She outlasted the lot of them.

Clear as a bell to the very last. She went into politics to serve, not to be served, and working people trusted her because she never talked down to them. She was one of us.

The police officer should be suspended and investigated- She clearly targeted the victim- she never made it clear she was the police - he was dazed after being attacked and though it was self defence. Once he realised she was a police officer he complied. She was aggressive.

She never met her father, he left her mother before Phillipson was born. Her mother FOUNDED a charity for abused women - the live din the hostel premises the charity ran. She wasn't raised in a refuge that her mother sought safety in just one she founded.

She didn't have an abusive father in her life, he was long gone when she was born and never seen again.

She went to a Catholic school then Oxford University, hardly a life in the margins as she claims. She then went to work in local Govt and elected in 2015. Within a decade after leaving university.

I was raised in a single family, no chance of university. She is economical with the truth to garner her, in reality, rather middle middle class circles that she has operated in since leaving early education.

Good morning you beautiful people. So, as we wake to the news that the worst prime minister in my lifetime is to resign, you’d think it would be great news. Getting rid of a man who actually despises British people. Hates us. Wants to destroy us and our culture. But then you look at the people who make up the Labour cabinet. A selection of people so thick, incompetent and completely unemployable and see that things will only get worse. So, in the meantime, I shall go and have breakfast in the gorgeous Sunday morning sunshine, look at the beauty by the canal and the Thames and focus on those things. Government says unemployment fell from 5.0% to 4.9%, good news right? Er …. No. It’s a fudge…

The other figures show

▪️Vacancies fell again to around 707,000, lowest level for more than 5 years.
▪️Hiring is weak
▪️Payroll employment is lower than last year
▪️Economic inactivity rose in the latest quarter.

AND … Unemployment only counts people who are actively looking for work. If they stop looking, they move from “unemployed” to “economically inactive”.
(Oh and that bit has increased).
