Great to join MP for Likoni Mishi Mboko today as we issued bursary cheques to students across Likoni Constituency. This year, over 12,000 students received support covering local and upcountry schools, tertiary institutions, TVETs, and nearly 400 Persons Living with Disabilities. Wonderful to see the community come out and the warm reception from our people.

Building on the strong partnership forged with Slovenia since the visit of President Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar last year, we are taking concrete steps to advance our shared goals in apiculture. We were honored to host a high-level team of Slovenian experts, led by Prof. Sonja Šibila. Their expertise is invaluable as we work to realize the full commercial potential of beekeeping in our county, a venture set to create meaningful economic growth.

We joined H. E. President William Ruto in Kisumu City for the launch of the NYOTA Start-up Capital disbursement for Homa Bay, Kisumu, and Siaya counties. Over 2,800 young Kenyans from Homa Bay received their first tranche of funding, marking the start of their entrepreneurial journeys. As a County Government, we will not only waive business permit fees and cover the full-year SHA premium, but we will also integrate the NYOTA beneficiaries into transportation, logistics, last-mile delivery, and agri-value chains. This approach will promote immediate income generation, faster capital rotation, and stable livelihoods.
