TAPPS Division I
📊 Week 4 Recap - Fall 2025 📊
⭐ Game of the Week #1
77 – Grapevine Faith Christian School @GFCSFB
44 – St. Michael’s Catholic Preparatory School-Austin @SMPREP_FB
🔹 Grapevine Faith lit up the scoreboard in Week 4, breaking a three-game skid against St. Michael’s with a 77–44 shootout win that showcased one of the state’s most explosive offenses. Senior QB Austin Cosby @AustinCosby_ was nearly flawless, throwing for 400 yards and five TDs while completing nearly 79% of his passes, and his favorite target Noah Smith @Noah_Smith09 piled up 159 total yards and four scores. Senior RB Matteo Schirripa @teoschirripa29 rushed for 192 yards and 3 TDs with Charlie Bunch adding 96 receiving yards, while the Lions’ defense forced two interceptions by Lucca Lovera @LuccaLovera and Charlie Donovan @CDonovan1128 with a fumble to keep the Warriors from closing the gap. St. Michael’s QB Nico Anderson @nico_anderson27 put up a huge fight with 439 yards and five TDs of his own, but Grapevine Faith’s pace was simply too much, averaging over eight yards per play and pulling away by the third quarter. The Lions moved to 2–0 while averaging an eye-popping 66 points per game, positioning themselves as a dangerous contender in TAPPS Division II.
⭐ Game of the Week #2
49 – Southwest Christian School-Fort Worth @SCSEaglesFB
13 – Nolan Catholic High School-Fort Worth @NolanCatholicFB
🔹 Southwest Christian delivered a statement in Division I, rolling past Nolan Catholic 49–13 to notch its first 4–0 start in 21 years. The Eagles’ ground attack was relentless, with Trey Mosley @Treythefuture1 and Slade Evans @SladeEvans1 pounding out big gains behind a physical offensive line, while QB Eli Hufstetler kept the offense balanced and efficient through the air. The defense gave up some early scores but tightened after halftime, allowing SCS to break open what was a close contest into a rout by the third quarter. Nolan’s Aaron Morales @Aaronjmorales and Jimmy Suter @jimmy_suter4 flashed in spurts, but the Vikings couldn’t match Southwest Christian’s pace or physicality.
💥 Player of the Week
🏅 Jaylen Pile @jaylenpile2026
🏫 Parish Episcopal School-Dallas @ParishSports
🎧 Daniel Novakov @coachnovakov
🔹 Michigan commit @UMichFootball Senior wideout Jaylen Pile delivered a career night in Parish’s 43–38 shootout win over Cornerstone, erupting for 272 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His big-play ability stretched the Warrior secondary all evening and gave freshman QB Logan Lucero @loganlucero2010 a trusted go-to target. Pile’s performance not only set a new career high but also reminded everyone why he’s one of Division I’s most dangerous playmakers in space.
👀 Things to Watch
🔹 Concordia Lutheran High School-Tomball @clhstxathletics blanked Fort Bend Christian Academy - Sugar Land @FBCAathletics 22–0 behind their RB Malik Liberty @MalikLiberty17, WR Jaxon Coleman @JaxonColeman45, and DB Rome Stanford @RomeStanford. That defense is showing playoff-caliber bite just in time for the start of district play.
🔹 Trinity Christian Academy-Addison @TCAAddisonFB enters district play at 2–1 under new HC Trey Haverty @TreyHaverty, and the Trojans have shown they can put points up in bunches behind QB Hunter Flatt @HunterFlatt9 and WR Chase Griffin. The question is whether they can tighten things up defensively after surrendering late explosive plays in a narrow 31–29 loss to St. Mark’s. With Liberty Christian @LCS__Football and Legacy Christian @LCAFriscoFB on deck before the gauntlet of Parish, Bishop Lynch, and Prestonwood @PCALionsFB, how quickly TCA’s defense adjusts may determine if they sneak into the playoff picture in TAPPS Division I.
🔹 Bishop Lynch High School–Dallas @BishopLynchHS followed a big opening win with two straight losses (one still under dispute), but the pieces are there for a turnaround. The offense has shown real firepower with QB Matias Leon @Matias_Leon00, RB Ish Muhammad @babyishmuhammad, and freshman standout WR Zach Williams @black2thamax all emerging as playmakers. If the defense can rise to the same level, the Friars could become one of the district’s toughest outs. With back-to-back matchups against Parish and Prestonwood on deck, we’ll soon find out where they stand.
