Genetic and biochemical characterization of OXA-1054, a carbapenem-hydrolyzing class D β-lactamase conferring broad-spectrum β-lactam resistance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa | Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy https://t.co/Q2Ni4V3aZC
Happy to announce the publication in #AACJournal (https://t.co/hKZogW1Elh) of The Pseudomonas aeruginosa Resistome Explorer (PaREx), an open-source, Python-based pipeline designed for the automated analysis of P. aeruginosa resistomes. Availabe at https://t.co/pDZcUOAcFX
Our latest article: In vivo evolution of resistance to novel β-lactam/β-lactamase inhibitor combinations through overproduction of the horizontally acquired extended-spectrum AmpC β-lactamase FOX-14 and porin disruption in Serratia marcescens. Available at https://t.co/0x5vilrXnB
Did you know that xeruborbactam has entered clinical development with cefiderocol? 🚀
In our latest study, we examine how Pseudomonas aeruginosa resistance mechanisms affect susceptibility to this promising new combination.

Excited to share our new collaborative paper in Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy on how mutational resistance mechanisms and acquired β-lactamases shape cefiderocol/xeruborbactam susceptibility in Pseudomonas aeruginosa! Congrats to all coauthors!

Today we have concluded the 2nd edition of this workshop. It has been a week full of knowledge and enriching scientific discussions. We sincerely thank the students, the experts, and the institutions that made it possible. We look forward for the next edition.
Day 5: We start the final day with two lectures. First, Dr. Pournaras discussed the role of heteroresistance in Gram-negative pathogens. Next, Dr. Poirel gave an excellent overview of the diversity and prevalence of acquired carbapenemases also in Gram-negative pathogens.
We concluded the day with two outstanding lectures: Dr. Juan addressed approaches to studying P. aeruginosa virulence, and Dr. Cantón closed with insights into antimicrobial resistance in chronic respiratory infections in cystic fibrosis.
Day 2 has ended with two brilliant lectures: Dr. @ArcaSuarez90 who deeply explained how to perform the biochemical chatacterization of beta-lactamases and Dr. @katyJeannot, who gave a masterclass on the regulation of resistance mechanisms in P. aeruginosa.
Day 1: 2nd workshop on antibiotic resistance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa: Excellent lecture by Dr. Christian Giske on EUCAST SIR definitions & breakpoints and their implications for treating P. aeruginosa infections.
