3/ My bet: One of the legacy auto mnfrs will buy $RIVN and leverage it as its EV platform. Unlike $LCID which makes luxury sedans (6% TAM), RIVN is in the two fastest growing segments (CUVs, pickups ~50% TAM). Once RIVN gets to scale on R1T and R1S they can easily move down market to $40K-$60K vehicles that qualify for the $3,750-$7,500 IRA credit.
$LCID (-11% today) delivered 1,404 vehicles in 2Q, putting it on pace (2,810 delivs YTD) to finish well below its guidance of 10K for 2023. If the govt of Saudi Arabia was not backing LCID (65% ownership), LCID stock would likely be half ($3-$4/share) where it is today.
